Welcome to Smart City & Infrastructure AI monitoring Lab

SCIAL lab aims to enhance the sustainability and safety of the urban environment, by focusing on  developing smart sensing and AI-based infrastructure monitoring technologies. Our primary goal is to develop technologies for evaluating the serviceability and integrity of urban environments by understanding the usage of infrastructure during their life cycle.

Current research topic include

  1) Non-contact sensing and monitoring technologies (Computer Vision, Laser, and Lidar Sensors, etc.),

  2) Forensic analysis methods using digital twin models,

  3) Data augmentation technologies using synthetic environments (including AR and VR), and

  4) Machine learning algorithms for integrity forecasting.

We are currently recruiting Graduate Students who are interested in:

  •   Structural Health Monitoring

  •   Smart Cities

  •   Structural Fire Hazards

  •   AI Technologies

  •   Vehicle Structure Interaction Dynamics

  Wireless Sensing Technologies, etc.

Interested, please contact Dr. Kim (robinekim@snu.ac.kr) with your CV!
